Meet Faffa, the GOSPEL GEM.
UP for your view is a studio shot of one of Christ’s beautiful gospel vessels. This glory-filled vessel, christened Faith Fafa Gobah but popularly known in the music showbiz as Faffa, is all-nations bound and she is divinely tasked with the evangelism of the higher consciousness aspects of the esoteric Christ gospel. As a destined Faffa fan, it’s all of Heaven’s pleasure that you get fully familiar with her Mission, Message and Music this soon before she berths at your local harbor someday to bless your nation with her numinous music therapy, or long before you suddenly hear her song bumping on a radio station and you then begin to wonder who on earth has that very beautiful voice.
Wanting to know her quick particulars? She’s a Ghanaian, a God-called gospel musician and a graduate of Central University [Ghana] with a degree in Business Administration [Human Resource option]. Faffa is single with no kids.
As is common with most gospel artistes, Faffa also started singing in churches at a very tender age to basically hone her craft and pass through the necessary seasoning processes. Realising that she’s gained competitive musical maturity, she decided to go professional with a fast debut album in mind and she succeeded in having one and then another.
After the successful release of her two standard albums [Father’s House, 2011 and Nobody But You, 2013], Faffa is back in the studio working out a third which track list will consist of some sure hit cross-genre breeds.
In 2013, “You Are”, the 6th track off Faffa’s “Nobody But You” album got nominated by CCMA [Christain Community Music Awards] in the “Most wanted contemporary song” category, but it unexpectedly lost the plaque to Cwesi Oteng”s “God Dey Bless” hit song. Faffa is still highly hopeful of many future nominations that she even visions a myriad of international and local plaques up her way.
Recently urged by her recurring flair for reggae, Faffa finally decides to beat the reggae renditions of her former hits --- though a tardy response, but it’s not long overdue. Fact is, she dare not resist this reflex, knowing these rendition singles can help expand her fan base by putting her brand at an advantage in the reggae-dancehall market. This confirms why she considers working with some Jamaican gospel artistes a necessary move. Surely, a future reggae-dancehall album is most likely. She’s duly mastered her craft to a universal level that she can step on any music genre and succeed with a full 360 degree pie rating. Oh Gosh! She even raps.
Faffa has shared a stage with Knii Lante, Nii Okai, Daniel Nettey, Cwesi Oteng, Joe Mettle, Becky Bonney, Helen Yawson, Marko, Episode, to name a few. She has also played with the Big Hills Band, Patch Bay Band and other bands as well. She rocked Stratcom Praise, Agape Gospel Reggae Carnival, Leaders in Worship, Urban Worship, Women in Worship, Reggae Celebration and a host of several other prior shows.
Some artistes misuse their stage chance ad nauseam, but watching Faffa perform live on stage one time and another gives you a lot of sweet recurring memories, because she serves her audience in a manner that ensures they leave the venue with her performance deeply stamped on their minds. With such an addictive impression, you always feel deficient when you miss her next show. This makes her a mistress of brand psychology, being able to create an Oliver Twist syndrome in her fans --- they keep following for more!
With her media skills, Faffa doubles as a voice-over professional. She’s credited in Life Walk, Greater Works, Joy fm Sweeps, Coffee Coffee, Pathway for Success [an audio series by Dr Mensa Otabil] and still considers voice-over deals.
Her influences are Tracy Chapman, Yolanda Adams, Chevelle Franklin, Nicole C Mullen, Cece Winans, Bob Marley, Mary J Blige, Tanya Stephens, Zahara, Mary Mary, Kojo Antwi, Chronix, Lauryn Hill and Etana.
As expected, her music spans the world, not only Ghana, thus, she has won the admiration of several gospel greats and she’s even started something with them. Fans are, therefore, to expect her international collaborations with some Caribbean, American, South African and other African gospel artistes. In due time, a couple of these collaborations will be released this year as promotional singles to be rotated on radio, but the rest will be reserved in her song bank for inclusion on her subsequent albums.
A huge investment in Faffa is worth it, because she’s already a hardworking indie with a great lucrative talent --- hence, should she land a strong devoted management, her music career will assume a worldwide rapid elevation.
Look out for “Better Than Wine”, Faffa’s pending single, which is set to be released in a few weeks. Nii Soul’s magic touch on “Better Than Wine” makes it one of his best productions.
