EPISODE references KOJO KOMBOLO in a new release that honours INDUSTRY PIONEERS

Public recognition of one’s remarkable contribution towards the establishment or retention of a collective revolution is honorary enough to boost one’s willingness to do more. The GH reggae-dancehall revolution only took a clearly promising turn the time youth artistes like Kojo Kombolo and a very few others stepped in to take selfless responsibility of the duo-genre to help it go mainstream. Today, Kojo Kombolo gets a strong mention in Episode’s “Take We Back” in honour of his contributions.

“Kojo Kombolo and Xylo; ah dem set the pace”, thus sings Episode somewhere in “Take We Back”. This is a vital honour, though it’s only oral.

Oral honours are very powerful reminders, they are like spoken awards in lieu of plaques. It’s obvious “Take We Back” will put Kojo Kombolo in repeat remembrance as the song is such a dancehall classic that will receive a long-term massive fan play and its relevance will always pop up whenever wherever the history of GH reggae-dancehall is being discussed.

Street records sincerely reveal that Shatta Wale, Episode and some more other GH reggae-dancehall senior underground artistes learned a great deal of musical creativity and tricks from Kojo Kombolo. Kombolo was one of the leading musical revolutionaries that helped mould the recent succeeding shape of GH reggae-dancehall.

Kojo kombolo did a lot for GH reggae-dancehall way back and is doing more behind the scenes, but one major contribution of his that makes him stand out historically is his personally-funded shows that gave artistes like Shatta Wale, Iwan, Jupitar, Kwame Partan, Ras Kuuku and others the platform to showcase their talent.

There will be an increased impact, should Shatta Wale and others emulate Episode’s effort and release sequels to “Take We Back” with contents that glorify the pioneer heads that thought together for the success of GH reggae-dancehall.
Other industry players that Episode resourced in “Take We Back” are: Black Prophet, Ras Mubarak, Fiifi Selah, Afro Moses, Elorm Beenie, Samini, Root I, Rocky Dawuni, Shatta Wale, Ras Nigger, General Marcus, Terry Bonchaka, Soni Bali, Mad Fish, Stonebwoy, Root B, Black Santino, King Bash, Nana Dubwise, King Lagazee, DJ Nature Won, Joni Blaze, Iwan, Jupitar, Khameleon, Regula Rebel.
