Gabi Sparks Storm Over GH Dancehall With 8-Track Debut Album, April 1
This April 1 brings into Ghana’s dancehall scene 2017’s first female dancehall artiste album when Gabi “The Feel” opens her discography with her 8=track debut album dubbed “Nkosuo” --- which will be digitally distributed by Suumoni Records.
“Nkosuo” is an Akan word which is translated in English as “Progress’. Perhaps, Gabi built this debut project on the concept of success to signal the masses about her transition from a basic life level to a higher one, hence the success relation.
Gabi’s “Nkosuo” will be made available in all the famous major digital media stores like iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and Band Camp for worldwide online purchase. Yeah, CD copies will be circulated in the physical market for fan hand-to-hand buy.
The album has guest appearances like Yaa Pono and Black Mexxiah.
Chronologically, Dancehall Ghana 2017 has not seen its first female dancehall artiste album yet, Gabi’s “Nkosuo” album sets a record as being the first one to be released in the year.
With her chic artistic flair, standard super model fashion sense and career development mastery over the core elements of the dancehall genre, it’s clear Gabi is a powerful commercial competition to AK Songstress, Kaakie and any other top-notch female artiste in the Ghanaian dancehall space --- even as she is extra ruff, tuff, fully ready and not a user of lyrical euphemism.
