Since the back years of the early wide public acceptance of the duo genre, Reggae-Dancehall Ghana has been kept in an ever-promising progress by self-financed interested groups that still will to see Ghana’s reggae-dancehall space well-sustained and expanded. Even the recent sudden spring-up of these very few mini event management hubs that operate without huge corporate sponsorship spell out lucrative prospects for the artistes and keep them motivated and hopeful of a brighter career future. One of such self-sponsored mini event hubs is LAVA PRODUCTIONS which is bringing to Ghanaians their 5th “4/20” staging dubbed “Let It Burn” on 19th April at La Pleasure Beach right on the Princess One Love Bay ground jurisdiction.
The numerical acronym “4/20” which is pronounced “four-twenty” is the shortened slogan for April 20 --- better still, 20th April, in reverse explanation.
Lava Productions uses the slogan “4/20” as a title tag to trade-mark their events by fixing their event date within 20th April every year --- making it an annual with each single event given a unique name. Lava Productions was incepted in 2010 and had its maiden event in 2011.
The 2011 “4/20” was dubbed “Inna Mi Chalwa”; 2012’s was “Roll A Rizzla”; 2013 saw no event, but “4/20’ returned in 2014 as ”Buil’ A Blunt” and continued in 2015 as “Bubble Chalice”. Previous year 2016 just like 2013 also had a sudden gap, hence Lava Productions aims at making this year’s [2017] “40/20” staging a massive compensatory beach rave with a triple dose euphoria --- to make up for the 2013 and 2016 gaps. On a titling check-through, Lava Productions events have characterized titles --- their titles are fire-related, an emphasized connection to”lava”. They gave us: “Inna Mi Chalwa, “Roll A Rizzla”, ”Buil’ A Blunt”, “Bubble Chalice”, and here the pending consistency: “Let It Burn”.
2017’s “Let It Burn” “4/20” comes off Wednesday 19th April 6pm through to the next morning 4:20am [20th April] when it closes. The show will start at 6pm prompt on the 19th.

“Let It Burn” is co-sponsored by the Rastafari Council, Ghana. Media support is coming from Radio Gold, Pink fm, Okay fm, Vision 1 Radio, Hitz fm and 13play.
