Life and Career
1992 –2013:
Early life and career beginnings
Asare Emmanuel Lartey was born on November 18, 1992 in Koforidua, the capital town of the
Eastern Region of Ghana to Edmund Darko Asare (Shadow), who passed on in February 2003
and Sarah Asare, a teacher, singer and seamstress in Koforidua.Emmanuel is a Christian and the
last of five children born to his parents. His older siblings are Godwin Asare (a teacher, poet and
dramatist), Philomina Nyarkoa Asare (a teacher and decorator), Reverend Ernest Perbi-Asare (a
District Pastor with the Church of Pentecost Ghana) and Mavis Ayebea Asare (a nurse). Kasiebo
comes from a family of artists and artistes. His maternal grandfather was a composer and a
singer though not professionally. His mother and her siblings formed the group Apostolic
Melodies which gave startling performances in the Apostolic Church Ghana back in the days.
His uncle, Dr. Emmanuel Antwi, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and
Technology is an artist and a singer while his older cousin, Apostle Immanuel Baffour Adjei, a
major character in the popular Ghanaian TV drama series Abibais an artist, singer and actor who
has starred in many movies. Again, the Ghanaian Gospel Musician Rev. Nana Perbiis another
older cousin of his.
Kasiebo had his elementary education at the Riis Presby School after which he continued at the
New Juaben Commercial Senior High School and graduated from the Koforidua Polytechnic,
now Koforidua Technical University, all in Koforidua. Kasiebo is often heard in his songs
referencing Koforidua to pay homage to the city where he was born, raised and had his schooling
up to the tertiary level. He maintains that he had loved music from childhood. He joined the Spirit
of One choir which was led by one Bro. James Saah at The Apostolic Church Koforidua, Central
Assembly. Later, he joined the Glorious Mass Choir of the Church of Pentecost Koforidua,
Asokore Assembly. In his words, he states, “I started my own songs in 2008 and recorded my
first mixtape, Gyptian Hold Yuh in 2009 at Pgee studios.”In 2010, when Kasiebo was in the
senior high school, he and two of his close friends, Astonish and Franco formed a group called
3geez and recorded tracks which made waves in their school and other neighboring schools to
establish them as known performers in Koforidua. Their main genres during this period were hip
hop, hip life, high life and r&b which were mostly done in English and the local Twi dialect.
Later, with the help of Ameyaw Gordon who was their senior and their English teacher, Mr.
Frank Owusuaka Phrawus, they shot videos for their tracks with a digital camera and sold a copy
for GH¢3.00. The videos went viral to further unveil their identity in Koforidua and beyond,
even as far as the UK. Unfortunately, the group disbanded after the completion of their senior
high education in 2013.
2013–2016: Solo projects and record deal
After senior high school, a popular underground artiste in Koforidua who goes by the mononym
Mayoka introduced Kasiebo to Wings Armani who had a music studio at Jumapo, a suburb of
Koforidua where most of the upcoming artistes recorded their songs. This was when Kasiebo
met artistes like Sean Khare, Koo Ntakra, Racky Nova, Ojay, Qweku Anda etc. Around this
time, Kasiebo who was mostly known for performances in the local Twi dialect shifted his
interest to dancehall music. In 2014, he got admission into Koforidua Polytechnic, now
Koforidua Technical University to pursue Purchasing and Supply as his major course of
study.Schooling however did not interrupt his ambition to become a musician as he went on to
record “Aseda in Chains” with his mother who used the name Zion Babea as well as “No Joke”,
“Bokoo” and “Bad by Far”, all featuring Sean Khare and produced by Wings Armani.
In 2015, Daniel Odame Junior, host of Stars TV told Kasiebo about a US based production
owned by a Ghanaian that wanted to manage an artiste in Ghana. Kasiebo sent his songs together
with that of some other artistes and by the grace of God he was chosen. Some months after,
Jagonzy Iconz Production (SpeechNation) came to Ghana to sign him, hence the name SpeechNation Prince.
Kasiebo has been interviewed and had many of his songs enjoy a lot of airplay on Pluzz FM,
Radio XYZ, Eastern FM, Radio 1, Bryt FM, Latenu FM, Kingdom FM and others. His song
“Bad by Far”which was released to YouTube has had more than 2k views and 12k views on

release of his first studio album. He is working with L.M Beats who is producing his new works
and Nii Saved who does his mixes.
When asked about his hopes for his musical future, Kasiebo said, “There are more things
planned and packed for the future. We are aiming for the VGMAs, BETs, the Grammys and other
international awards interspersed with international collaborations but surely, wait patiently for
my first album before the end of 2017. By the grace and mercies of Jehovah Almighty who gave
