DJ Nature Won Runs 3rd Edition Of “Heights of Reggae Dancehall”, 12th August [Akuma Village]
AUTHOR: [Regula Rebel, CEO of 13play.net]
Since the maiden staging in August 2015, Heights Of Reggae Dancehall hasn’t lost consistency --- it has rather proven to be a reliable annual musical festival concert that will always come around to treat Ghana to the best in reggae-dancehall every August’s 2nd weekend, each year. Venue is Akuma Village.
Heights Of Reggae Dancehall was incepted by DJ Nature Won as a mini annual festival concept that seeks to celebrate his birthday in a grand open setting that takes the celebration of a music celebrity’s new age beyond the mere pub rave. Lots of birthday party plans are, but his is more a community-targeted option --- even being an all-night musical concert backed by a tall line-up of several Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artistes that come together to entertain the nation’s reggae-dancehall community.
Heights Of Reggae Dancehall doubles as a honorary event that pays grand homage to the reggae-dancehall genre, not singularly to celebrate the life of the dj. “The paramount aim enshrined in the concert’s concept is to honour music, talent and life”, DJ Nature Won revealed.
The previous 2nd edition (August, 2016) brought to the audience an epic series of beautiful performances by over 20 artistes --- a line-up of repeat appearances of some of the 1st edition entries combined with supporting maiden appearances of new upcoming artistes who had then just entered the game.
This year’s edition will bring on new faces like Cruked Route, Ras Amankwatia Tafari, Kurtis Yardie, Von Praaka and a few more others.
Up the line-up are: Iwan, Ras Kuuku, Kojo Kombolo, Cruked Route, Ras Amankwatia, Gold Teeth, King Vuvu, Xhila Roy, Seeta Kamani, Queen Ruki, Nayah Fyah, Maiden Voyage, Kamelyeon, Oko Lacy, Jumanjikal, Adekese, Jah Truth, Da Governor, Bobolati, Von Praaka, Artillery, AJ Lyricx, Burning Faya, Jefri King, Xali Hali, Kendred, Kurtis Yardie, XBlankson, Wan Row, Addi Govnor, Double D, Nino Vybz, Asa African, etc.
